Looking to fill the following roles:
HUNTER (27) [male, any race/ethnicity] is an aspiring filmmaker living in LA, ten years removed from Portland. He's built a life around control — labeled medications, a rigid morning run, and a wall up against anyone getting too close. His grasp for control is causing him to shrivel up in his life. He's empty, and when he gets the opportunity to reconnect with an old best friend, he jumps on it. In hopes of reclaiming a connection he's spent years burying — and the love he so desires in his current life.
PAUL (27) [male, any race/ethnicity] is Michael’s best man and Hunter’s childhood nemesis — loud, chaotic, and impossible to ignore. Whether Hunter likes it or not, Paul is his way into the wedding. He’s not the easiest person to ride shotgun with, but beneath the bravado is someone who never stopped fighting to stay connected to the people and places he came from.
AIMEE (27) [female, any race/ethnicity] Marrying Trisha after four and a half years together. Hosts the engagement party in Hunter's apartment. Warm, grateful, glowing.
TRISHA (27) [female, any race/ethnicity] Aimee's fiancée. Steady, devoted, sure of what she wants.
JOSIE (27) [female, any race/ethnicity] Friend of the couple. The one who keeps a room warm without trying too hard.
PAUL'S MOM & DAD (50s) [male & female, any race/ethnicity] A wave from the driveway. Ordinary, easy — the kind of home you
don't think twice about leaving.
HUNTY (17) [male, any race/ethnicity] Timid, quiet, the new kid trying to find his footing. Steps in without hesitation when a friend needs protecting, even though it isn't in his nature to be the bold one. Something about Mikey pulls him toward a closeness he doesn't yet have the language for.
MIKEY (17) [male, any race/ethnicity] Strong, confident, magnetic on the outside, with a softness underneath he
doesn't show easily. The one who claims abandoned places and turns them into something
magical. The first person who makes Hunty feel safe, and pulls him toward a closeness neither
of them has been taught how to name.
PAULY (17) [male, any race/ethnicity] Sharp-tongued, loud, a little obnoxious — bigger built, and using the volume to
cover for how insecure he actually is. Always testing the edges of the group instead of settling
into the center of it. Watches the ease between Hunty and Mikey with something closer to envy
than annoyance — a closeness he wants and doesn't know how to ask for.
OLD MAN (75s) [male, any race/ethnicity] — Bitter, guarded, alone. Carries the grief of a partner he lost, and it's
hardened him toward the people still around him — but a soft spot slips through when he lets it.
JAMES (30s) [male, any race/ethnicity] A man Hunter meets by chance at the wedding, warm and easygoing, the kind
of stranger a conversation lingers with a beat longer than it needs to. Reappears later in
Hunter's life in a way the audience feels before Hunter fully explains it.
HOMELESS MAN (20-40s) [male, any race/ethnicity] A drifter, someone who's been many places and now goes mostly unseen. Bitter about how he's treated, but carries a knowing wisdom about people — he notices what nobody thinks he's paying attention to.
